Description

POSITION: Bilingual AOD Counselor (Drug and Alcohol Certified) Assists and supports clients who are in recovery with counseling opportunities (both individual and group) Supports clients in the recovery process and provides advocacy and support collaborative partner referrals as necessary. Provides drug and alcohol treatment services to qualifying clients.  Job Duties:

(1) Current Drug and Alcohol Certification

(2) Conduct intakes, assessments & treatment planning

(3) Perform individual and groups

(4) Track attendance & complete daily progress notes

(5) Prepare discharges and treatment planning for clients

(6) Diagnose clients according to DSM

(7) Provide crisis & collateral services referrals as necessary

(8) Make intake assessments and effectively enroll qualified clients into the program

(9) Assist with the coordination, development, and ongoing advocacy of program clientele

(10) Able to attend Drug Court and/or Veterans Court case assessment meetings as requested

(11) Communicates and listens with a high level of ability and effectiveness

(12) Experienced with observed drug testing procedures/County protocols preferred

(13) Knowledge of and experience with Title XXII preferred

(14) Knowledge of and experience with GPRA Reporting preferred

(15) Ability to learn agency client database program

(16) Other duties as assigned

(17) Bilingual required.

Required or preferred licenses, certifications: Drug and Alcohol Counselor Certification in the State of California (Required); Valid Drivers License (required) (ability to be insured on Agency Designated Driver Plan); High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (provide proof); BS Degree Preferred; CPR Adult/Infant AED and First Aid Certified

Preferred; Supervisory/Leadership experience preferred Supervisory: Supervisory experience and ability is preferred as this position may be needed to support and supervise other subordinate staff in times of extended absence of Program Manager.
