Position Title: Residential SUD Counselor Overnight Shift
Department: Residential Services
Report to: Lead Counselor
Salary Range: $28.80 to $34.20, based on registration/certification level (these payrates include a 20% differential for working over-nights)
• Registered Counselor - $28.80
• Certification level 1 – $30.60
• Certification level 2 - $32.40
• Certification level 3 - $ 34.20

Position Summary
The Residential Registered SUD Counselor supports residents through quality group and individual SUD counseling, as well as the completion of all required documentation. This position is an overnight shift. Hours are 11:00pm – 7:30am
Essential Functions
• Updates all resident daily group and counseling session logs, and UA logs
• Completes walk-through of Residential Program grounds every 60 mins
• Completes assigned tasks given by lead counselor or Program Manager
• Complete and document provision of resident medication in a non-medical setting
• Help resolve interpersonal issues between and among residents
• Complete all resident documentation, according to county, state, and agency guidelines
• Support lead counselors with completion of resident drug screens both monthly and as needed
• Report issues that endanger the safety or wellbeing of clients or colleagues to the program manager
• Complete all trainings as required
• Complete supervision as needed with lead counselor or program manager
• Maintain all confidentiality and privacy standards of client protected health information and other information and materials in accordance with company policies and procedures, and applicable regulations and laws according to HIPAA & 42 CFR
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Maintain active registration or through CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP with completion and certification within 5 years of hire
• Assure timely renewal of registration
• Enrolled in, and attending educational courses for certification if not currently certified
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or within 90 days of hire)
• ASAM Training (or within 10 days of hire)
• Understanding of the social determinants of health impacting LGBTQI+ communities
• Cultural competency and humility in working with LGBTQIA+ communities
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities within a residential setting
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner according to program expectations
• Ability to meet deadlines with documentation according to state, county, and program expectations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Successful completion of a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
• Active Certification through CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP
• 1 to 2 years’ experience serving clients in a human services setting
• Previous experience working in an AOD residential program setting
• Experience with electronic health records
• Experience with Optum – SUDPOH county forms used for AOD documentation
• Written and spoken bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements
• While primarily working indoors, counselors also work with clients outdoors
• Regularly lift 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
