Description
The Salvation Army’s Fresno Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking intern addiction specialists, who under the supervision of our Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor will be responsible to provide case management and addiction counseling services to a caseload of clients with substance abuse disorders. Will seek insights and understanding of the people we serve, to determine the needs we may address and to aid people in changing the pattern of their lives in order to function more effectively in our society. This individual has a responsibility to counsel/case manage clients.

 

This is an unpaid internship.

 

Requirements
• Registered Drug and Alcohol Counselor
• Experience in a non-profit setting working with homeless, other economically disadvantaged, and culturally diverse populations preferred.
• Understanding of addictions and relapse prevention.
• Ability to interface with various levels of leadership.
• Familiar with HIPPA guidelines.
• Ability to facilitate and teach assigned group therapy and educational sessions.
• Computer skills
