Description

Placer County’s Adult System of Care division of the Health and Human Services department is currently accepting applications for Substance Use Services Counselor - I and Substance Use Services Counselor - II. Each level in this job series has different minimum qualifications. To participate in the recruitment at the I - level, II - level, or both levels, you must complete and submit separate applications and supplemental questionnaires for each recruitment.
These positions participate in screening clinics both in-person and via telehealth, perform substance use screenings, and provide recommendations for clinically indicated levels of care. Other duties include case management support and linking clients to treatment and other community resources as needed. To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the stated minimum qualifications.
Although not required, applicants who are registered or certified as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor are highly desired.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in sociology, psychology, counseling, behavioral sciences or a related field or possession of a license issued by the State of California as a Psychiatric Technician. No experience needed for the level I position, and 2 years of experience is needed for the level II position.

Salary ranges from $59,633.60 - $80,225.60/year with promotional opportunities.
