ACCORD: ACCORD (Alcohol Counseling Community Outreach Drop-In) is a licensed California program for people arrested or convicted of driving under the influence. Clients attend classes on substance abuse education and have private counseling sessions to address alcohol or drug-related issues in a safe, confidential setting.
Required Qualifications:
Current registration or certification from a California State Substance Use Disorders (SUD) certifying agency.
Nice to have (but not required):
1 year minimum of professional experience providing direct, indirect, or support services for alcohol and drug programs dealing with individual recovery or alcohol and drug problem reduction.
How you’ll be helping:
Under the supervision of a D.U.I.P. Program Manager, the SUD Counselor uses a unified team approach to provide group facilitation, education sessions, and individual participant sessions in the DUI program. They will monitor compliance and provide case management referrals to ancillary services.
This looks like…
Individual and group counseling sessions:
Creating safe and accountable environments that prioritize client growth.
Performing drug testing urinalysis specimen collections and screening as required.
Monitoring and documenting participant’s program compliance.
Administrative duties:
Maintaining accurate, complete, timely and legible program records following Drug Medi-Cal Standards.
Conducting screenings, assessments and referrals utilizing the ASAM tool.
Attend mandatory training, meetings, and in service supervision.
Your work environment:
ACCORD is located in El Cajon, between the Parkway mall and the train station. We are accessible by various public transportation methods! We also have plenty of client/employee parking.
Our clients at ACCORD are participating in court-ordered substance use treatment programs, therefore we are looking for someone who can remain sympathetic while working in an environment that can be somewhat challenging.
You’ll work alongside a wonderful team of changemakers across various positions. You’ll also be working with other dedicated and compassionate SUD Counselors you can lean on for support and guidance!

Work Schedule:
Full time, 40-hour work week
Position hours may vary. Exact position hours to be discussed during the initial interview with hiring manager. We are seeking counselors to work between the hours of 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
