We are hiring a new SUD System Navigator to join our Helen Vine Recovery Center program. In this role, you will provide support in the planning and operation of services to ensure smooth functioning and clear communication. Under the direction of the Director of Substance Use Services, you will support utilization of services, collaboration with partner organizations, and prioritizes wellness of participants. This position involves attending various meetings, conducting assessments, providing support and transportation, and tracking program performance to ensure effective service delivery. 
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Attend Re-entry meetings, cross-Marin law enforcement heads meetings, case conferences, SUD provider meetings, and Behavioral Health Links planning through CalAIM. 
Collaborate with local homelessness outreach staff to publicize program availability and build trust and connections to facilitate referrals and enhance care coordination. 
Verify that potential clients are residents of Marin County. 
Conduct ASAM assessments in various settings, including jails and hospitals, before client entry into the program. 
Check clients’ Medi-Cal status at program entry to confirm eligibility for Marin DMC-ODS services; assist clients without Marin Medi-Cal in exploring options for Withdrawal Management. 
Provide transportation for clients from incarceration settings to HVRC and at the time of exit. 
Support clients throughout their wellness journey, from pre-arrival at HVRC, during their stay, and for up to two weeks post-discharge. 
Assist clients in transitioning to the next level of care by explaining options, coordinating referrals, and providing transportation as needed. 
Monitor and track program performance metrics, including utilization of beds, the number of clients served, and the percentage of successful transitions to other Substance Use Services within 30 days post-HVRC. 
Collect and report client satisfaction feedback from both clients and referral sources (e.g., police, jail, probation). 
Communicate Respite and Withdrawal Management bed availability to Marin Health and Human Services (HHS) staff, ensuring timely updates and effective resource allocation. 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Education and Experience: BA/BS degree in Social Science discipline; OR Peer Support Specialist Certification; OR Patient Navigation Certification; OR Certification in Community Health, Advocacy, Drug and Alcohol or similar discipline. Possess and maintain certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAARH or other training approved by The State Department of Alcohol/Drug Programs). A minimum of one-year experience working with adults with serious and persistent mental illness. Strong understanding of mental health systems, community services and supports identified through experience. 
Skills and Abilities: Computer and office skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, email, fax, cloud-based programs, and electronic health records (EHR) are needed, accompanied by excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent in English (written and verbal); Spanish language skills a plus. Must understand and be sensitive and responsive to serving culturally diverse populations. Ability to work autonomously with focused direction, advocate for team approach, utilize strong organizational skills, project appropriate confidence, listen well, problem solve in on-the-spot situations, remain calm and reassuring in unexpected situations while maintaining confidentiality. Must have an interest in working with persons with mental and/or behavioral health disabilities. Able to identify areas needing improvement and to take initiative to suggest viable alternatives. Ability to work flexible hours required (generally normal business hours, with occasional flexibility needed for evening availability). Must be able to work within with all the rules, regulations, and policies that govern agency compliance. Applicants must have a valid California driver’s license with an insurable driving record, use of own vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed). Ability to meet contract requirements. A lived family or consumer experience with mental health and/or addiction desired. 
Physical requirements: Capable of the following intermittent activities: stretching, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, reaching above or below the shoulder, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting to 25 pounds. Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands and the use of fine motor skills. Often operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically. 
Special Note: Employees in this position are required to possess and maintain Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor through the California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP) or the California Consortium of Additional Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) or other training approved by the State Department of Alcohol/Drug Programs. Loss of certification will result in loss of qualifications for continued employment in this position.

PAY: $29.00 - $31.00 Hourly
