Open Positions: Drug and Alcohol Program Counselor II (C2)

We are looking for dedicated, experienced professionals who are ready to make a meaningful impact. Applicants must hold a current AOD (Alcohol and Other Drug) Certification that is valid in the state of California.

C2 Counselor
This role requires current certification as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor and adherence to continuing education requirements as outlined in Title 9. You’ll receive ongoing professional development and supervision to support both client care and your growth.

Drug and Alcohol Program Counselor II Job Summary

The DUI Program Counselor plays a key role in delivering evidence-based curriculum to clients in DMV or court-mandated programs. This position supports participants in making positive behavioral changes, while adhering to ethical and legal standards in a structured program environment.

Drug and Alcohol Program Counselor II Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct client intakes, explain program details, assess needs, and arrange payments
Prepare enrollment and completion certificates
Monitor attendance, track progress, and manage compliance notifications
Facilitate educational group sessions and individual interviews
Provide referrals to community and employment resources
Maintain documentation and accurate records in compliance with Title 9 and internal standards
Support audit and quality assurance processes
Offer mentorship to counselor interns, if assigned
Demonstrate consistent attendance and active participation in team collaboration

Drug and Alcohol Program Counselor II Qualifications

Certification as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDCC, RADT/CADC, CATC, or MFT)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bilingual abilities in Spanish, Russian, or ASL are highly valued (eligible for a $500 annual bonus)
Proficiency with internet tools, Zoom, and standard office equipment
Must provide a copy of valid California AOD Counselor Certification
Ability to maintain regular, reliable attendance

Additional Information

Job Types: Full-Time
Compensation: $24.00 – $25.00 per hour
